Teepee Camp

By some accounts, Chief Joseph was born here on the north shore of Oregon's Wallowa Lake in 1840. In any case, Wallowa Lake and the Wallowa Valley served as the beloved homeland for the Joseph Band of the Nez Perce Indians.

This photo was an in-camera duplicate. The first exposure of teepees was made at the teepee camp at the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo and the second on the same 4x5 sheet of film was made months later at Wallowa Lake.
